DAVAO CITY, PHILIPPINES – Davao City’s home-grown Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company, Next BPO Solutions, Inc. marks its seventh anniversary last July 10, 2016. The company was founded in 2009 by Xavier Eric B. Manalastas with a French-Canadian funding partner. When the funding partner decided to pull out of the business in early 2011, the remaining owners were faced with a dilemma of either shutting down the company or face the challenge and continue the operation with a fresh start. They chose to face the challenge and continue.
Starting with only 7 employees in 2009, the company now employs more than 150, providing dedicated staff outsourcing services to clients in New Zealand, Australia, UK, The Netherlands, Canada and USA. It has also recently signed a contract with a Multinational Corporation in the Philippines to help provide support to its global clients.
From renting just a small office space in 2009, the company expanded to an adjacent building in McArthur Highway, Davao City, renting 2 bigger rooms to accommodate its operations in 2011. Faced with the limitations for growth due to its office’s size, it moved to the newly-constructed ACC Building in Quimpo Blvd. in Ecoland, Matina, Davao City in 2013. It initially occupied only the second floor. The company now occupies 4 of the 5 floors of the building and is looking for a secondary site for its planned expansion in the first quarter of 2017.
“We’ve had our own share of ups and downs. When we decided to continue the business in 2011, we were down to almost zero. And it was a roller coaster ride from then on. At some point in 2014, we went through our own recession that we almost closed the company again. But God’s grace sustained us. Through all those growing pains, God has been, is and will always be faithful. We thank God for giving us great people to work with. We thank God for giving us a great core team. We thank God for sending us clients. We thank God, too, for the tremendous support we have received from the industry, especially ICT Davao. For all of these, we give God the glory.”, says Mr. Manalastas.
With Davao City now becoming a prime destination for offshore outsourcing services, the company is well-position for long-term growth. Although many of the big Manila-based BPO players have already chosen to locate in Davao City, home-grown companies such as Next BPO Solutions have been able to find its niche and maintain its position in the global BPO market. The company is focused on providing outsourcing services to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), especially to those who will be outsourcing to the Philippines for the first time. Its current business model of Dedicated Staff Outsourcing is part of its Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) service scheme that allows its clients to directly hire their staff after 2 years. It lives out its current service slogan, “We Build Great Teams”.
